New System new problems

I have recently built myself a new box ....

But being a recent mobo (Asus P5B) I need new modules to get sata/ide drives working (Jmicron!)

Have built 2.6.18-rc* in the hope of adding modules I require...

But not sure how to get new box up & running

Problem ... well I can use Arch install cd to chroot into system but will running mkinitcpio add new modules for new system assuming I am using Arch install CD kernel

Will I need to create a new Arch install CD with new kernel to get me new box up & running (I hope not!)

help!  :?

If you are creating an image for a kernel other than the one you are currently running, add the kernel version to the command line:

mkinitcpio -g /boot/kernel26.img -k 2.6.16-ARCH

Haven't been here in a while. Still rocking Arch. smile
