I use CUPS for printing. When I installed the new printer everything is OK in cups but when printing from openoffice I can't choose the right paper. The only options are letter, A5 and a few more. A4 that I usually use is not an option when I check into spadmin. In cups it's not only an option but <The>!
I have tried to read every man page I can find but everyone says I should change default option in spadmin - but the right one is not there!
Any hints on where to search or what files to change?
btw when printing from all other apps in kde the printer is configured right. And in openoffice it says that printing goes through cups...

My OpenOffice has every paper size displayed just fine, but it's not stock, but rather 2.0.3-4 from AUR.

I'm using the standard arch OpenOffice package and have around 20 options for paper size including Letter, A4, A4long, A5, and A6. Maybe reinstalling OpenOffice would fix it.

I made a
Pacman -R
and then I removed all .openoffice directories in my home
then
Pacman -S
the same problem consists...

I can't find where these things are defined. For all other printers in the system everything is OK. (ie exactly same options in cups and spadmin)

After contact with Brother solution center they told me this is a bug in latest openoffice.
I got a new cupswrapper and now it works perfectly!
It would be nice if someone could make a package for those files. Maybe in a form that one first download the 5 different rpm's needed (lpr-printer, cupswrapper-printer, lpr-fax, cupswrapper-fax, sane) and then makepkg.
This I say because there are _soo_ many brother-printers that are supported in linux and to make a package for each is too much work. I guess it could be done either by adding a file with all the names of the different rpm's or by changing names of them into something like 'cupswrapper_printer.rpm' 'lpr_printer.rpm' etc
