No internet access on booting from usb.

Tried both lan and wifi, but I have no internet access when booting arch iso. But both work fine on other live distros.

Trying to ping gives Network is unreachable.
After giving password for the desired wifi from wifi-menu, the screen freezes for a second, then it gives me a screen as if clear had been run, as in the prompt at the top and nothing else.

Can’t give outputs directly here since I am using my phone, please check the google drive link for the output of the following
ping 1.1.1.1
ip a
systemctl —type=service

Re: No internet access on booting from usb.

You've got no DHCP lease on the network interface.
Is there a DHCP server running on your network?

Then you might want to consult with the respective administrator.
Also universities usually provide some sort of tutorial how to join their networks.
For the network of my alma mater I needed a certain VPNC connection, that was quite annoying to set up back then.

It doesn't require anything from my part, just plugging in works for lan in ubuntu fedora win10 and acrolinux. and connecting to wifi just needs password.

Run through the steps from Wireless#Device_driver onward.  If the manual connection attempt fails post the commands you used and their outputs.

FYI, my lan port doesn't work so I’m using a usb to lan adapter. That adapter shows up in ip link but not in lspci -k. And checking dmesg for wifi kernel driver gives unsupported htc service id 1536.

Re: No internet access on booting from usb.

Does the adaptor show up in `lsusb`?  USB to LAN so a wired NIC?  enp0s20f0u2 is up.  enp3s0f1 possibly the broken integrated NIC.
What is the output of `ip a`

Updated drive with ip a and lausb outputs. Yes the adapter shows in lsusb and yes it is wired nic.

Re: No internet access on booting from usb.

dhcpcd@enp0s20f0u2.service failed for some reason.  Was the NIC connected when the system booted?
You could try restarting the service or checking its status plus the journal to find the failure cause.

Yes it was connected. Updated photos with journalctl and systemctl enable and start dnch... output.

Re: No internet access on booting from usb.

The systemd services suppress messages from the command they execute, try running dhcpcd directly.

# dhcpcd enp0s20f0u2

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
