[Solved] Enabling nvidia-drm KMS causing gdm blackscreen

After I installed the nvidia driver, gdm won't start.  There seems to be an xorg error.

GPU: GT820M

What do you mean by "tried" - is the module in your initramfs?

We end up with

Since this is an multi-GPU (likely optimus) system: what's your general approach to that (ie. how do you intend to use the dGPU)?

Yes, I added the module to the initramfs, it still gives me a black screen with a flashing under score.  I want to use nvidia gpu as my primary graphics card.

Thanks, GDM works fine now.  However, it seems I cannot enable PRIME Sync.  I followed https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … ntegrated), but the ouput of  "xrandr --properties | grep PRIME" is still 0.
I also tried to manually turning it on by "xrandr --output eDP-1-1 --set "PRIME Synchronization" 0", still not working at all.

Edit:
Nevermind, the reason why PRIME SYNC is not working is because linux 5.4.  Marking as Solved.
