Hello fellows!
I have been using arch for a few years and want to install it to my new PC.
First I thought it would be a complete freeze, since the boot process stopped after the following systemd messages (typewritten):
[ OK ] Create Volatile Files and Directories.
Starting Update UTMP about System Boot/Shutdown...
[ OK ] Started Update UTMP about System Boot/Shutdown.
[ OK ] Rebuild Journal Catalog
But then I discovered that I could type in commandos 'blindly' and it reacts to
reboot
and
shutdown
.
So this is my setup:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 3000 5 3600
GPU: AMD 5500 XT (Sapphire Pulse)
MB: B450 Tomahawk Max
Newest Bios firmware (11/11/2019) is installed.
Is there an issue with the current gpu driver? I'm aware that these new AMD GPUs still need kernel development time.
On the other hand the Ubuntu 19.10 Live CD is running fine. Do I have an option to workaround?
Thanks in advance and have a nice day
Jan
