Adding IMAP account on kmail fails with
https://i.imgur.com/sNbrdsG.png
Other component of kontact like kaddressbook and korganizer works with the same account. I have tested using gmail and this issue persists. I have no idea where to look for solution to this as there is no relevant bug report. Previous versions of kmail worked fine with same account but on different distribution. I am running arch since one week and kmail has not updated in between.
Mod Edit - Replaced oversized image with link.
CoC - Pasting pictures and code
Launching kmail through konsole while adding account outputs:
org.kde.pim.accountwizard: Did not find D-Bus method: "setAuthentication" available methods are:
org.kde.pim.accountwizard: "destroyed(QObject*)"
org.kde.pim.accountwizard: "destroyed()"
org.kde.pim.accountwizard: "objectNameChanged(QString)"
org.kde.pim.accountwizard: "deleteLater()"
org.kde.pim.accountwizard: "_q_reregisterTimers(void*)"
org.kde.pim.accountwizard: "_q_serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)"

Same issue here. I have used KMail some time ago but left it because of problems with nouveau. Now trying it again (with a decent GPU) and got this same issue.

Same issue here as well. I'm using a fresh installation of Manjaro.

Yes, I experienced this error today when I want to set up a Yandex account and a Hotmail account.
It seems not to be an Account issue but something related to akonadi.

I dare to disagree. I experience the same with GMail and Office365, and all those accounts work flawlessly with other mail clients. So definitely, this is one more in the countless bugs that affect KMail2/Akonadi. KMail used to be good, but Akonadi seems to have ruined it.
