Update Archlinux without Internet connection

hello guys, currently at my house i do not have internet connection and i am scared to leave my desktop without updates for a long time.... most likely i will run into troubles if i do so. I have also an archlinux laptop that i update daily at work. I am wondering if there is anything i can do to update my desktop without internet connection

You can copy the packages from a USB drive and pacman -U.

thing is that my two systems have different packages installed so if i copy the cache from laptop to desktop there will be tons of missing packages... is there another way to do it? Id need a way to figure out all the packages i have on the desktop and then download them with the laptop

Check the pacman manpage.
"pacman -Qqn" will list all installed "native" packages w/o versions (ie. in required form) and "pacman -Sw" will only download packages…

If a package gains new dependencies what would pick those up? Would it not be safer to not upgrade the system until it has internet access.

I have a maybe dangerous idea. You could copy the pacman database of the isolated system to the laptop and then download packages with "pacman -Syuw --dbpath ....". Take care not to destroy your laptop installation, though.

pacman -Sw without -dd will do dependency resolution for packages you need to install, the same way pacman -S normally would.
