[SOLVED] Feb 2020 install EFI issue

Reinstalling arch again, using the same procedure as the last dozen or so times I've done this.  Using the same USB key, same dd command I've always used, but this time I don't have an efi folder in /sys/firmware on booting the key.  fdisk says the usb key is in EFI mode still (I don't manually reformat the key, just run the dd command every time I want to move to the latest release), BIOS allows me to choose the UEFI USB key and it successfully boots off.

Has something changed with the efivars folder no longer being there as of this latest arch release?

^ This indicates that you are booted in non-UEFI mode so make sure that CSM (also known as "Legacy" mode) is disabled in your firmware ("BIOS") options and that UEFI is enabled. You should also disable Secure Boot.

Fixed - moved the key from a USB3 to a USB2 slot.
