mlocate doesn't install

This is my problem:

# pacman -S mlocate

Targets: mlocate-0.14-8

Total Package Size:   0.1 MB

checking for file conflicts... 
error: the following file conflicts were found:
  mlocate: /usr/var: exists in filesystem


errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.

I must admit that `/usr/var' is a symlink to `../var'.  When I remove the symlink and create a directory there - mlocate successfully installs.
