Grub Menu not showing other OS

Hi,
I have a laptop with arch linux my main os.I later installed Mx linux and Manjaro also.Both without installing grub.
I want to use arch install's grub.when i configured grub it detects both Mx linux and Manjaro.

sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

But when i boot i only get arch and mx linux in grub menu.
no matter how much i do grub-mkconfig it don't show manjaro.
Any help will be  appreciated.Thanks.

Please post the full output of

# grub-mkconfig

The contents of Manjaro's /boot directory would also be useful, for example:

Arch's grub-mkconfig script doesn't recognise those as kernel images because of the idiosyncratic nomenclature.

So you have two options:

  • Install and configure GRUB from Manjaro

  • Compare and contrast the contents of /etc/grub.d/ for both Manjaro & Arch to find the script the former is using to identify their images then copy that over to Arch

The second option would probably be best if you want to use Arch as your main system.

It may be worth opening a bug report against the grub package to get support for Manjaro included, if you do that then link to this thread and include Manjaro's GRUB script with the report.

Another option would be to add the Manjaro entries manually, either to /etc/grub.d/40_custom (then rerun grub-mkconfig) or add them to /boot/grub/custom.config.
