Lag while typing since last update

I updated my system yesterday (and the last time before that was maybe 1-2 weeks ago), and now I seem to have some lag when typing. Not all the time, but from time to time, it would enter the letter, then remove it and enter it again very fast. Just like if I typed, backspaced and typed again. And sometimes it just feels like a small lag between the moment I type and the moment the letter appears.

Both in terminal and in Firefox, but it is more noticeable on the terminal for me.

Where could that come from? Or how could I try to identify where it comes from?

You should probably post your pacman log for the last update. Make sure you wrap the output in [ code ] [ /code ] tags

I don't see anything obviously wrong.

Your system is using the i915 driver as primary device and there does seem to be a bug associated in 5.5.

You could look at the link provided by seth..see if that fixes or downgrade the kernel.

Ensure there's no high CPU load

I've been running htop next to a terminal. When typing on the terminal and seeing the lag, I can see that all my CPU cores are at less than 5%, and there is no visible spike at this point.

I guess the next step is to try the suggested kernel parameter `i915.enable_psr=0`...
