Hi,
I don't know if this is really a bug, or if I just have a faulty system.
As the title implies I'm having problems with nouveau if the kernel is 5.5.1 or newer.
Here a snippet of my systemd log with the 5.5.1 kernel:

Feb 04 22:42:03 xps15 kernel: ---[ end trace a7ec2e12e2e43a84 ]---Does anybody have a similar issue? Can someone give me a hint or help me resolving this issue?
My researching skills related to kernel issues aren't the best, so sorry if I've missed a hint.
I'm using gnome-shell 1:3.34.3-1 with wayland 1.17.0-1 and mesa 19.3.3-1.
Downgrading linux and linux-headers only to 5.4.15 resolves my problem.

If everything actually works, you might as well ignore that.
Never ignore the archachic.

I have G84, updated to kernel 5.5.1 and 5.5.2 without any problem with nouveau, also it work with 2d/3d, opengl hardware acceleration. I use Xorg and i3, no wayland.
Maybe it's iommu problem (in 5.5 kernels they changed something with it, and you have i915 module loaded - do you have intel cpu?).
By the way: anyone used / is using GM107 with nouveau? Are there any 2d/3d problems? I plan to switch to geforce 750 in future.

@debtopac
Ignoring is not an option. With my set up and a kernel 5.5.1 or newer even gdm won't start. nouveau keeps crashing.
@xerxes_:
You guessed right, I'm using an Intel cpu:

intel_iommu was disabled by default again in https://git.archlinux.org/svntogit/pack … b6a0c33b95
So if the issue is present in 5.5.2.arch1-1 unless you are specifying iommu=on as a boot option it will not be that.
You will probably have to report the issue upstream preferably after bisecting between 5.4 and 5.5 to find the causal commit.
I think the current upstream bug report site is now https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/dri … eo-nouveau
