Issues with Epson XP-211 printer

Hi all!!

After searching a lot in different forums i can't solve the following problem. Since a few months ago my system detects the printer connected via USB  but i can't add the XP-211 printer using CUPS.  I installed the drivers recommended for this printer.  It doesn't show up in the list of local printers. Everything works fine with other printers except for the mentioned one. I tried reinstalling CUPS and using the default configuration because i thought maybe i broke something but everything i tried out fails.  Can anybody help with my issue. Thanks!!!

What is the recommended driver you installed?  What is the contents cups error log LogLevel debug when printer detection fails?

Not seeing anything related to detecting a printer in the log.  Is the printer detected by lsusb?
Also please use code tags for commands,  their outputs and log contents.

Yes, it is detected by lsusb indeed and that is why i don't understand the reason CUPS does not list it in local printers. The output of lsusb is

Is there no output in cups debug log such as

DEBUG: libusb_get_device_list=

or

ERROR: Unable to initialize USB access via libusb, libusb error

As one of those should be printed when cups performs USB device detection https://github.com/apple/cups/blob/v2.3 … usb.c#L791

Search through /var/log/cups/error_log looking for the strings 'ibusb_get_device_list=' or 'Unable to initialize USB access via libusb, libusb error' one of them should be printed as a result of USB device detection.
That is the section you want to post not the last 100 lines.

If the lsusb output has not changed the entry for the printer will be

Bus 001 Device 010: ID 04b8:08ae Seiko Epson Corp.

so $busid would be 001 and $deviceid would be 010.  Substituting into stat /dev/bus/usb/$busid/$deviceid gives

stat /dev/bus/usb/001/010

Enable cups  ?

sudo systemctl enableorg.cups.cupsd.socket
sudo systemctl start org.cups.cupsd.socket
