Try adding something like /etc/modprobe.d/disable-dmic.conf
options snd_hda_intel dmic_detect=0
this was explicitly disabled in the 5.4 series kernels and implicitly reenabled in 5.5 on the grounds that it should've stabilized, but it doesn't look like that's the case.

Hello. The solution above helped me too. Microphone is not working. How do I turn on the microphone?

Remove the solution above and install sof-firmware and alsa-ucm-conf instead. Things change and while this was workable advice a year ago, the side effect that this disables the mic is normal and intended, but nowadays systems that would need this should be well covered by sof-firmware
