rutorrent w/ lighttpd error

I am trying to configure rutorrent with lighttpd. I have followed the Wiki but when I view the webapp, I get the following errors:

Bad response from server: (200 [parsererror,getplugins]) SyntaxError: Unexpected token '<'

JS error: [http://localhost/rutorrent/js/webui.js : 762] Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'rTorrent' of undefined

rtorrent is running and the errors occur when using either lighttpd or nginx.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
