Waterfox: no sound since update (with temporary fix glibc 2.31)

I updated my system yesterday and rebooted.

Now I have some issues with vivaldi and waterfox browsers, including no sound in waterfox.

A web search revealed that this is not an isolated issue and other web browsers such as chrome, firefox and brave are having issues. Other distros are affected.
This seems to be a glibc 2.31 issue.

Until this situation gets an official fix, I'm reposting here the temporary fix found on pclinuxos forums:

In a terminal console
tex@localhost ~]$ export MOZ_DISABLE_CONTENT_SANDBOX=1
tex@localhost ~]$ export MOZ_DISABLE_GMP_SANDBOX=1
[tex@localhost ~]$ waterfox

[tex@localhost ~]$ opera --disable-seccomp-filter-sandbox

Do you have Pulseaudio installed or are you using only Alsa by itself?

Pulseaudio gave me more problems than it solved, I'm not even sure it solved any problem I had, switching permanently from firefox to waterfox happened when firefox dropped alsa support.

So alsa by itself it is.
