[SOLVED] Bigger font in console since 5.5.6

As mentioned in this bug report, https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/65680, since 5.5.6 the default font size in console has been changed to some bigger font. As I would like to keep the old small font, I've set the console font via /etc/vconsole, which works as expected. I also added fbcon=font:8x16 to the kernel command line. However, tty1 still uses the bigger font and messages printed during shutdown are still rendered big. But this only happens when I initiate shutdown from KDE/SDDM. If I initiate shutdown from tty2 or higher, shutdown messages are printed smaller. How can I force tty1 to also use the smaller font size? If someone has an idea, where to look or what to change, would be very helpful. Thanks!

Have you tried adding the mkinitcpio hook consolefont or sd-vconsole if you use the systemd hook then rebuilding the initrd?

Yes, I already tried that. This is my current hooks configuration: HOOKS=(base systemd keyboard sd-vconsole autodetect modconf block filesystems fsck)

All of a sudden, during the last shutdown it worked. I don't know, why it didn't at first, maybe a typo or something. Thanks for your hint and support.
