Hello,
I have a Lindy BNX-60 bluetooth headphone.
I usually use it with my phone and it works great.
However, if I connect it via bluetooth to my laptop running arch, the sounds is terrible. It is not as clear, a bit muffled. I have to put the volume higher but the voices are not as understandable when I am connected to my phone or when I use a jack.
Any idea ? Does it depends of bluetooth driver or something ?

Are you using the A2DP profile? What are the outputs of
pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks
aptX which is apparently the most modern Bluetooth protocol, is proprietary and doesn't have a free implementation available afaik.

It seems indeed that it uses aptX :-/

That's what I wanted to find out, but apparently you didn't have the bluethooth headset connected when executing these commands, or did you?

oh my bad, it dropped indeed (getting issues to connect it from time to time).
I have updated the previous post

try

Great, sounds better indeed.
Yes I use GDM, I will try your link to see if it is enabled at startup

Thank you. You solved my problem.
Get the index of your card:

Set the cards profile to a2dp (example: index 2):

Hello,
I have similar problem with my bluetooth speaker. When it is connected via cable sound is good, but on bluetooth it is awefull.
I'm on Manjaro 19.0.2, GNOME 3.34.4. I tried this (pacmd set-card-profile 1 headset_head_unit) but it did not work and followed guide from wiki for GNOME, but it did not help.
