KDE/Plasma missing settings

HI all.
I just installed from scratch Archlinux and the KDE environment.
What I am missing is the "audio setup" part of the settings.
I cannot find it by right clicking on the "speaker" icon on the tray and is not listed among the usual KDE system settings.
I have tried to lookup for it within the packages, but had no luck.
Any hint?

Thanks everyone.
Yes, I have audio output, but I could only test Chromium/Youtube. The volume slider in the tray works.
I am not sure whether I really really need pulse audio. When asked during the installation, I chose phonon/VLC.

On archlinux the common options for sound are alsa and pulseaudio (phonon-vlc works at a much higher abstraction level) .

Post

$ pacman -Qs pulse

For reference here's the output from my pure* alsa system :

$ pacman -Qs pulse
local/libao 1.2.2-2
    Cross-platform audio output library and plugins
local/libpulse 13.0-3
    A featureful, general-purpose sound server (client library)
$

many packages on archlinux hard depend on libpulse.
Having libpulse installed without any other parts from pulseaudio allows those programs to determine there's no pulseaudio available on  my system.

So, if I understand correctly, I need to install pulse even if VLC works perfectly, because that's the only supported way to manage the audio devices from KDE/Plasma.
The suggested link to Pulse doesn't tell anything about the KDE settings.
The next link goes to the "KDE PulseAudio Integration" which also tells nothing (of course, it is a generic information page).
I haven't got neither libpulse nor libao installed. Yet kmix, vlc, chmomium and other multimedia programs just work.
I suspect there's something else missing, but really don't know what.

Which settings are you searching for exactly? The speaker/surround setup or the old "media role based audio card setup"? Both of those really only make sense on pulse. ALSA doesn't have the necessary context. Just configure your ALSA as intended, via static config files.

On another KDE (not arch) I have several multimedia settings.
I can choose the actual hardware audio devices for both input and output, to swap left and right channels (when in stereo) and the likes.

plasma-pa also what version is "the other KDE" ? A lot of multimedia logic got reworked in recent versions, and more of the things moved to plasma-pa as opposed to the more general phonon-kcm (precisely due to the fact that while the phonon-kcm provided an UI for these things, they were only sensibly usable with pulseaudio and thus ported to plasma-pa instead). And regardless I'm willing to bet "other KDE" has pulseaudio preinstalled.

I had to manually enable pulse before getting everything working. Thanks,
Now another missing bit is the setting to configure the external monitor.
