Installed Arch 2020.03.02 and IDE Plasma 5 DE as a VMware virtual machine on a Windows 10 host.
There is a wireless Epson WP-4530 printer connected to the host, which works fine, and which has been "shared."
I want to "add a printer" in the Arch VM, so as to access the Epson printer, but have been totally frustrated in doing so.
I've made so many attempts in so many different ways it's impossible to recall and describe here what I have done. Nevertheless:
I have tried to install VMware's thinprint virtual printer software, but it only works on Debian/Ubuntu based systems. Nevertheless I have accessed the vmware-thinprint package from the AUR repository; no luck.
I have tried using CUPS, but that fails as VMware virtual machines can't access network printers; they must use the host's printer.
I've tried Samba/smb shareing, but can't get it to work.
If I had a better memory or had made notes, I could go on and on.
Can anyone help me, please.
