After a recent update (my guess the culprit would be GNOME 3.36), a few buttons on my desktop started to look weird. I use a custom modification of the Adapta theme on both the Budgie and the Cinnamon desktop (selected from LightDM). But, even if I change the theme to the default or high contrast, the same issue persist.
Does anyone have a similar issue?

(the left ones are supposed to be + and - to change the number, the right side one should be a + sign to add more applets if I remember correctly from 4 days back)
