VLC player not working [SOLVED]

Hi, i used to play videos with VLC and it was working fine until i guess i installed nvidia-390xx-lts drivers and rebooted, since then whenever i open a video in vlc it gets terminated with this output in terminal :

Why and how did you install nvidia-390xx-lts? You need to ensure it's properly built, as the relevant packages have been moved to the AUR: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=253628

Installed libva-vdpau-driver and set VLC decoder to VDPAU, the same error

Also about Nvidia optimus, i dont really plan to use both graphic cards, i just want Nvidia so i guess nvidia-390xx-dkms would suffice

If that is your end goal you will at least want to follow: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … phics_only or check whether your BIOS/UEFI has an option to switch to the dedicated card exclusively.

Otherwise you might want to share a xorg log and

I also have to mention that since vlc is no working, im using parole and it seems to work fine but when i try to navigate and go forward or backward in video, the screen gets black and i have to move mouse cursor to get screen back which i guess is related to xorg and graphic drivers stuff, but the thing is i had such kind of problems even with nouveau and before installing 390xx, my screen used to get some glitches like it go black for less than a sec and then get to work again, that was why i installed 390xx and it fixed that glitches, but now im getting issues by using parole

The only way this fixed any glitches is because you broke hardware acceleration and fall back to software, configure parole to not use HW accel and everything would be fine.

Right now your system doesn't have any usable 3D acceleration, so if you still want to use nvidia as your primary card you should read and follow the section I linked (and remove xf86-video-intel).

I did and set Nvidia as my main

but i still have vlc problem

If you changed that to VDPAU that's impossible you will have gotten a new or different error. But still you might just want to disable HW accel entirely, that chip is unlikely to really have much added benefit anyway.
