Gdm + splash broke on update, gdm crashes?

Did a system update and restarted. Once restarted my desktop and apps all start as normal, but in 1-10 seconds it switches back to bootsplash, then gdm asks me to select my user (I have auto-login, so never usually see this screen) I click my name and the secondary display stays on bootsplash. No amount of control+alt+delete triggers a reboot, and no input seems to do anything.

If I boot without splash the same thing happens except when I click my user it takes me back to my desktop and seems to work fine.

Re: Gdm + splash broke on update, gdm crashes?

Found the issue. Someone commented on the plymouth aur: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/plym … ent-733190

Their first fix suggestion worked for me:

>Add the line "RemainAfterExit=yes" to the [Service] section in /usr/lib/systemd/system/plymouth-start.service

Looks like a gdm issue that has been reported by someone else.
