So since a while now I encountered this issue, firstly with KDE Spectacle, so I tried with scrot.
Both have the same problem: They take incorrect screenshots!
The first screenshot is fine, but the second will be a mix of the first and the second, or will just be the first. I'm using awesomewm on X11, but I found this problem in a live manjaro KDE environment as well (I'm using Arch btw, not manjaro). The laptop I'm using is a HP Probook x360 G1 EE.

Not a KDE user here, but one of the things to check if such artifacts occur is whether enabling or disabling compositing affects it.
Sometimes I seem a bit harsh — don’t get offended too easily!

Thanks for your reply. It seems you were right: killing comptom seems to fix the issue. I'm going to investigate the problem
