My Xorg freezes completely

Hello All,

I have a dell precision 5530 2 in 1

I have budgie installed on archlinux. But I'm quite sure this is not related to budgie at all. While working normally, the screen would freeze, only mouse moves, no input/output on the screen. I can still switch ttys. I checked journal and nothing looks out of the ordinary. I checked Xorg.log and found the following

[  4914.323] (II) event3  - Power Button: device removed
[  4914.341] (II) event11 - Video Bus: device removed
[  4914.405] (II) event1  - Power Button: device removed
[  4914.434] (II) event2  - Sleep Button: device removed
[  4914.455] (II) event8  - Integrated_Webcam_HD: Integrate: device removed
[  4914.540] (II) event9  - Integrated_Webcam_HD: Integrate: device removed
[  4914.611] (II) event21 - DLL08AC:01 06CB:7A13 Mouse: device removed
[  4914.678] (II) event22 - DLL08AC:01 06CB:7A13 Touchpad: device removed
[  4914.745] (II) event7  - Intel Virtual Button driver: device removed
[  4914.771] (II) event5  - Intel HID events: device removed
[  4914.798] (II) event6  - Intel HID 5 button array: device removed
[  4914.831] (II) event12 - Dell WMI hotkeys: device removed
[  4914.892] (II) event4  - AT Translated Set 2 keyboard: device removed
[  4914.911] (II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch

My only option at that point is to force shutdown or reboot and lose hours and hours of data.

I've setup my laptop to hibernate and it works pretty much most of the time. Someone told me this is the usual suspend/hibernate sequence I see in the logs?

Great. Except I'm not initiating it in any way!!!

Please, if there's someone who can help out I'd really appreciate it. Prepared to provide any needed logs/files/etc

Thanks

Re: My Xorg freezes completely

So Xorg freeze only after suspend/hibernate? How do you setup Xorg server (how do you start it?) and GPUs (drivers)?

Re: My Xorg freezes completely

No. I don't suspend or hibernate. When Xorg freezes, I find what I pasted inside the Xorg.log file.

It seems something is triggering sleep/hibernate. Not lid close, not power button, not low battery, I don't know what is triggering it.
