I'm currently using Flatpak to manage a couple proprietary apps like Steam and Spotify via the Flathub repository, and there are frequently network connectivity issues forcing me to run commands multiple times. For example, when I last ran
flatpak update
I got the following output the first time:
Looking for updates…
F: Warning: Treating remote fetch error as non-fatal since runtime/org.kde.Platform/x86_64/5.12 is already installed: Unable to load summary from remote flathub: Could not connect: Network is unreachable
F: Warning: Can't find runtime/org.kde.Platform/x86_64/5.12 metadata for dependencies: Unable to load metadata from remote flathub: summary fetch error: Could not connect: Network is unreachable
F: Warning: Treating remote fetch error as non-fatal since runtime/org.kde.Platform.Locale/x86_64/5.12 is already installed: Unable to load summary from remote flathub: Could not connect: Network is unreachable
F: Warning: Can't find runtime/org.kde.Platform.Locale/x86_64/5.12 metadata for dependencies: Unable to load metadata from remote flathub: summary fetch error: Could not connect: Network is unreachable
[so on ...]
Nothing to do.
Running the command a second time, all was well with one exception:
Warning: While pulling runtime/org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nvidia-435-21/x86_64/1.4 from remote flathub: Could not connect: Network is unreachable
Changes complete.
Finally, after re-running the update command a third time, I was able to pull all the packages and complete the upgrade. Any ideas?

Well does this really just affect flatpak or do you actually have network connectivity issues? This reads pretty standard given your connection in general is wonky.

I've rarely had any visible network connectivity problems with Pacman, Yay, Steam, or any other app pulling data over the internet. Perhaps my network connection is indeed wonky in a way that most apps can more gracefully recover from, but Flatpak refuses to accomodate?

We're facing the same challenge here on a device. To temporarily resolved this, we manually updated the Flatpak local "repo GPG key". Steps at https://github.com/flatpak/flatpak/issu … 1399316612
Steps are the same for ArchLinux and Debian
