New Azureus version

The new azureus version is out...

Does anyone update the packages? Tried it myself, but I'm not very good at creating PKGBUILDS. So I just wanted to ask, because the packages have been flagged out of date for some time now and I wanted to know if someone takes care of it. I would use ktorrent, but is causes a hell lot of problems for me (Computer always crashes after some time and the filsystem gets corrupted). So I'm looking forward getting the new azureus version soon....  wink

Thanks

Odd question. yikes Yes, the devs update the packages.

To update an existing package, you don't need to create a new PKGBUILD - just take the existing one from CVS, along with any other files used in the build, change the pkgver and md5sum fields, and run makepkg. In most cases, that's all you need.

Re: New Azureus version

Azureus is incredibly bloated. Transmission is much better, IMHO. :-)

Lies tomk.  You can do the first part of getting the PKGBUILD and related sources using abs.

Re: New Azureus version

Azureus is the only application that I use on my Arch system that I just install straight from source. There really is no other reason except that I just find it easier to maintain that way. If I want to use a beta build that resolves some bugs I encounter then I just pop in the new jar and no fuss, and if there are official upgrades then the program does all that automatically with a download/restart.

OK. Not how I read the question, but you are, of course, correct.
