[Solved] Failed to start sddm after booting *updated

Hello,
     system hung on
    Starting version 245.3-2-Arch
    /dev/sda10/: clean, 352255/3203072 files, 4256575/12800000 blocks

     TTY is accessible though
     Very new arch user here,  Arch was installed with NVIDIA non-free drivers sadly nvidia cards is legacy and drivers are in AUR for nvidia 340xx.
System was running absolutely fine till last upgrade using commands "Pacman -Syyu"
Arch is on extended partition grubs is used in SDA instead of any  partitions.
in fstab partitions mounted > home root and swap using UUID only.

Can you switch to another terminal Ctrl+Alt+F2?  If not boot into multi-user.target so sddm is not started.  Do you then reach a terminal prompt?

yes i can start TTY terminal using alt+f2

What nvidia packages are currently installed on the system?
Also please update the thread title to reflect that the system can boot but sddm fails to start.

Am sorry for that, topic edited.

NVIDIA packages installed are :
aur/lib32-nvidia-340xx-utils 340.108-1 (+3 0.73%)
aur/nvidia-340xx-utils 340.108-1 (+11 0.80%)
aur/nvidia-340xx 340.108-6 (+34 3.25%)

installed for GPU Nvidia 9500GT
>>lspci -k | grep -A 2 -E "(VGA|3D)" used to show proper NVIDIA  drivers are installed

system was working fine with these.

if i recall correctly kcm was updated with major plasma modules in last update

If your last system update included a kernel update you will need to rebuild and reinstall the nvidia* packages you have from the AUR.

If your last system update included a kernel update you will need to rebuild and reinstall the nvidia* packages you have from the AUR.

hello

reinstalled all the nvidia packages mentioned above
also reinstalled sddm and kcm
using aur helper > yay

beside that updated grub

no change so far

just reinstalled should i purge them from yay cache?

ok as i seen >>"yay -sc" to purge cache will rebuild and install again

Did you actually rebuild the packages or just reinstall them?

Just purged all the cache and rebuilt the nvidia AUR package and it just solved the problem
am back to my lovely plasma again
