Hey,
I'm having issues with using my DS4 with Steam through flatpak and was wondering whether anyone else has this issue? I haven't tried the normal pacman installation of Steam since I'd like to keep steam sand boxed (if at all possible).
The problem I'm having is that the input from the gamepad seems to get "lost". For instance, I'm pressing the dpad down button and the menu reacts accordingly and then it either stops responding or gets stuck in an infinite loop ( I release the button and the menu keeps reacting as if the button is being pressed).
Essentially, I can't play any games with the DS4 at the moment. It doesn't matter if they are native or through proton. I've tried both Wayland and X11. I used to be able to play Tekken 7 without any issues in the past.
I also have an 8Bitdo Wireless Bluetooth Adapter, which essentially converts the DS4 into an xbox 360 controller, and the result are the same as the when I have it connected directly through usb.
I can't recall when this started happening, I think it might have been around the 5.2 kernel release. I'm only bringing this up now since I'd really like to get this working again and avoid having to reboot to windows.
I've tried fiddling with a bunch of controller settings on steam as recommended on the internet, but to no avail. I have a small project I'm working on with SDL2 which uses gamepads and there's no input problems there. I'm generally curious if this problem is limited to the flatpak installation method.
I'd really like to know if anyone else has experienced this type of issue before giving up on the flatpak installation and trying the native multi lib install?
I'm running Arch with Gnome and the flatpak package is installed for my user.
