Cannot login anymore after installation of tigervnc

Hi there,

I am quite new to arch linux and did my first installation recently  (kernel release 5.5.13-arch2-1). I set it up with xfce4 and lightdmusing autologin and it worked fine.
Now I installed tigervnc according to these instructions. After rebooting the lightdm login screen showed up, although I set up autologin.
When I try to login with my password it seems that it got accepted and the login screen vanished for a second. But directly afterwards it shows up again and I am prompted to type my password again. This way I am never able to login.
Fortunately it is still possible to login with the root account, if I select it manually.
When discovering this, I uninstalled tigervnc. However, the login problem persisted.
How may I fix this?
