New AUR package for Blacknut AppImage

Hi,

I just created my first AUR package for Blacknut AppImage: blacknut-appimage.
If anyone has comments about it, please tell me :-).

Notes about Blacknut:

  • if using pulseaudio, you will need pulseaudio-alsa (or Blacknut will probably SEGV)

  • I am not really enthousiastic with the idea of running proprietary software so I provide a firejail profile.

  • This firejail profile is used by the provided `/usr/bin/blacknut` script.

Cheers!

Re: New AUR package for Blacknut AppImage

It seems the "license" would be here or at least Article 6 of that page.  I put it in quotes as they don't license it for any use or distribution outside of the UK - so in fact your own use of it is a violation of their copyright.  I don't see much value in having this in the AUR when most Archers could not legally use it.

Well, I guess the license mentioned in the article 6 concerns the games available through their cloud (account required with a login + password.
I don't think it is related to the Blacknut client this AUR package helps to install.

Blacknut is also available in France (French terms) and maybe in other countries.

Ah, it seems they have different licenses for different locales - so that makes distributing the license difficult.  Though it looks like it does apply not just to the games, but to the program itself:

OK, thanks for noticing that.

Article 6 wrote:

You agree to refrain from modifying, decompiling, translating, adapting, distributing, diverting or copying all or part of the Service, any of the Games and/or the Application, and their constitutive elements, in any way.

I am not a specialist in laws, but I don't think we can consider I am doing such thing since the AppImage is downloaded from Blacknut servers.
Am I wrong?

Also not a lawyer, but no, I didn't mean to imply that you were.  I was highlighting that the linked document did seem to apply to the application itself, not just to the games.  So that seems to be the "license" that would be relevant for the PKGBUILD.  But I don't know how to get around the fact that they seem to have different licenses for different locales.
