I have a samsung the frame 2019 TV connected to my Nvidia GTX 970 card, using the Nvidia proprietary drivers.
The picture is pretty dark, and the "whites" on this forum for instance, look gray compared to the on-screen menus of the TV. Now I've tried a couple of things, and this is a pretty weird issue.
- If I change the resoulution to something non-native where the display has to be scaled by a non-factor of two, the brightness is fixed.
- If I change the refresh rate to 50 Hz or 20Hz instead of 30Hz 60Hz, it's back to full brightness.
- When I boot into windows everything is fine, including the preferred resoulution 4K and 60 Hz.
- If I turn the "brightness" in the Nvidia control panel up, everything will just turn gray, nothing has the full brightness
- I've tried changing color space from RGB to YCbCr420, and range between limited and full, but I only managed to make it worse.
- I recently also discovered that even the TTYs look darker than usual.
Do you have any ideas?
