Hi,
I've been using Arch on Matebook D14 for a few months, mostly getting used to linux and preparing tools, programs etc. to to fully migrate to linux on all my machines.
I had graphical glitches from the start but after some update they completely disappeared.
From what I've read earlier they were related to amdgpu (I've got Ryzen 2500U). According to the information that I've found setting kernel parameter iommu=pt could fix it, but I didn't test it myself as the problem was solved by some update before I had time for that.
Today I've run pacman -Syu and the glitches returned.
Subjectively I would say that they appear even more frequently right now.
From /etc/var/pacman.log:
[2020-04-08T16:51:39+0200] [ALPM] upgraded linux (5.5.13.arch2-1 -> 5.6.2.arch1-2)

I'm not sure if this is correct place to look for help. Should I write some bug report?
EDIT: I changed firefox backend to wayland and glitches are incomparably less frequent. But it's not like they never happen even while using native wayland apps. Before this update there were completely no glitches while using wayland native or xwayland apps, it was perfect.

Looking at the screenshot provided I would say your issue is related to your APU or more probably the drivers for it.
Anyway, kernel 5.6.3 is now in core. You can try that one and see if it fixes it.

I just upgraded to new kernel and the glitches disappeared.
I can still cause some small glitches by scrolling really fast and down using firefox with xorg (xwayland) backend but they only appear for short amount of time and are barely noticeable.
Only once I was able to cause them to stay on screen but they disappeared immediately after I scrolled a little bit again. It is possible that they were present also with 5.5.13 kernel and I just didn't notice them.
It seems like the issue is solved.
Thanks for help ![]()
EDIT:
After some more testing it looks like it's much better with new kernel 5.6.3 but probably worse then on 5.5.13. Currently I don't have time to investigate it so I will just observe what will happen with next kernels updates. If the situation won't improve I will downgrade kernel and verify if it really was so perfect as I remember using kernel 5.5.13. Depending on results I will post here or make bug report.
