Hello,
I installed KDE with the plasma-desktop package and am now trying to get kmix running. When i try to start it by clicking on the icon it closes immediately after i see it open in my taskbar.
When i try to open it by typing "kmix" in konsole i get the following:
org.kde.kmix: no mix devices and not dynamic (16 times)
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Playback_Devices.1.default"
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Capture_Devices.1.default"
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Playback_Streams.1.default"
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Capture_Streams.1.default"
org.kde.knotifications: env says KDE is running but SNI unavailable -- check KDE_FULL_SESSION and XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Playback_Devices.1.default"
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Capture_Devices.1.default"
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Playback_Streams.1.default"
org.kde.kmix: Cannot load profile "PulseAudio.Capture_Streams.1.default"
QDBusConnection: name 'org.kde.kglobalaccel' had owner '' but we thought it was ':1.1'
These are all the packages related to pulseaudio and alsa i have installed:
libpulse 13.0-3
pulseaudio 13.0-3
pulseaudio-alsa 2-5
pulseaudio-bluetooth 13.0-3
pulseaudio-equalizer 13.0-3
pulseaudio-jack 13.0-3
alsa-lib 1.2.2-1
alsa-plugins 1.2.2-1
alsa-topology-conf 1.2.2-2
alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.2-1
pulseaudio-alsa 2-5
zita-alsa-pcmi 0.3.2-2
I'm not sure how i can solve the problems specified in the console output.
Hope you can help.

KMix should show itself in the systems bar. however these messages read like you are starting plasma incorrectly. How are you starting it? What's your output for
loginctl session-status
printenvplease use [ code ] [ /code ] tags for pasting outputs (and fix your original post as well).
On a sidenote, while you should be able to use KMix, plasma has a more natively integrated mixer for pulseaudio in plasma-pa so you might prefer using that as opposed to kmix if you are using pulseaudio anyway.

i have the exact same issue as you, im using pipewire and not pulseaudio

Open a new thread and include the actual output you get (as well as the information I've asked for here) instead of necroing this 2 year old topic.
Note the same stipulations are still true here, is there a particular reason you want to start KMix? Plasma-pa is better integrated with the pulse logistics in a general sense.
