I was playing around with some scripts that started/stopped conky and my polybar and somehow that royally screwed my xterm kerning. Now I don't personally know how that would happen though, so it's possible that something else and playing with these scripts is just when I noticed it.

So you'll see within the .Xresources the line
xterm*faceName: Inconsolata:pixelsize=13I've checked that Inconsolata is installed with
fc-list :scalable=true:spacing=mono: family | grep Inconsolataand the whole Inconsolata family is returned
I've also run
xrdb -merge .Xresourcesmany times, including using different fonts. The font itself will change, but the kerning remains atrocious.
I've already tried just about everything that I can think of, including checking that xterm's "packed font" option is on. Do you smart people know anything I should check?
