[SOLVED] Firefox error dialog when trying to open DLd file location

As the title says I get this when I click the download icon in download drop-down menu in Firefox.

There is probably something wrong with mime settings, but I don't know which ones to delete or change to get this working.

I have seen some reports of this error but all posts were from 2011 or even older.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Edit: My file manager is Nemo cause it might be a culprit

EDIT 2: There was a wrong file editor chosen in prefered applications. It was Caja (which wasn't installed) and Nemo failed to pick that up. I solved it with changing from Caja to Nemo.

Does it work if you go through Tools > Downloads or Libary > Downloads ?

Check Edit > Preferences (or Library > Preferences) , scroll down .
What have you set for Downloads section ?

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

I had it at Downloads. But the error persists even though I changed it to other locations: /home/user/test etc.

With all those folders existing of course.

Sounds like soime kind of setting is incorrect.

do things work normally if you set downloads to "ask me every time" instead of  a fixed location ?

Re: [SOLVED] Firefox error dialog when trying to open DLd file location

Yes, even if I do "ask me every time" the error stays. I haven't mentioned but the files are in those directories I chose to download.

I have tried opening it few more times and now I'm almost positive this is a Nemo problem cause sometimes (once every 5 times) Nemo opens at /home/user (which is not a file location) and over that error is placed. I've deleted .config/nemo but the problem still persists.

EDIT: I have solved this issue. Check the original post. The default file manager was Caja, that wasn't even installed, not Nemo.
