irq/57-nvidia taking up cpu all the time

Hello, I've found similar postings here but without any answer and in a different setup so I decided to open another thread.

On a newly installed system I see constantly a process "irq/57-nvidia" taking at least 4% of a CPU. After suspend the desktop sometimes hangs with one core taken up by that process (I can't reliably reproduce this so as to diagnose what are the actual parameters that produce the hang). Since it's only one core I am able to powerdown cleanly.

The GPU is:

06:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation TU104 [GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER] (rev a1)

And the only relevant info I see on the logs are

I'd appreciate any help.

Did you found a solution?

I'm having the same issue,

irq/122-nvidia

is taking my cpu to 100% of usage, I found a "solution" that mentions

nvidia-persistenced.service

should be running, but it didn't worked.

No, I am afraid that I do not know how to even debug this and I am having intermittent problems with this.

Not here, but somehow without any actual measurements I get the impression this gets worse under heavier loads on the graphic card. Nothing really heavy, just moving around windows would do (I'm on I3). the past few weeks I've been working with just a couple of terminals open and haven't seen this phenomenon

It might sounds stupid, but using firefox instead of chrome or chromium reduced the issue, not sure if it  works for you.

haven't tried this, perhaps is something related to chrome acceleration then? can you post your chrome-flags? mine are:

~ $ cat .config/chromium-flags.conf 
--ignore-gpu-blacklist
--enable-gpu-rasterization
--enable-native-gpu-memory-buffers
--enable-zero-copy

Also, at least two of the three of us are in Brazil in case there's a bad batch of cards

Probably this is not actual data as I don't  use chrome at all and have been having those hangs constantly.

Hey guys it's been a while, not sure if this is the solution, but I'm using an AMD CPU (ryzen 3700x). I've updated the BIOS and I'm not getting any Xorg random freezings after the update (two weeks now when the issue was showing up 3 times a day). Not sure if this helps but I was getting RDRAND errors, this is a random number generator function and AMD cpus were having a bug when calling this, like I said, not sure if this helps, I'll let you know if the issue shows up.
