Merge non-LVM partitions

Is there a way to merge /dev/sdb* partitions into one? My / is constantly out of space:

$ df -h

What's taking up all the space on root?  If you don't know why it's filling up, getting an extra dozen gigs isn't going to last you long.

If you do need help merging the partitions, you're going to have to tell us what else is on the disk.  What's sdb3?  What's the output of lsblk?

There looks to be ample space on sda if you needed to shuffle things around to remove/resize partitions on sdb.  But really, your root parition should be more than big enough for a majority of use-cases.  Unless you know why it's so full, you should suspect a problem and fix it rather than cover it up.

The root is taken by /var and /usr:

The problem is, that I have two disks 120 Gb and 500 Gb. Root and home partitions are located on my 120 Gb disk. If they were one partition I wouldn't have this problem:

Remove the images, they are too big for the forums and provide no information whatsoever.  You didn't really address what's eating the space.  There are few reasons for /usr/ to take up that much space, and even far fewer (if any) reasons for /var/ to take up that much space unless you have some problem resulting in logs getting spammed with error messages.
