[SOLVED] X crashes when trying to run a game

Solution: don't use flatpak.

Hi all,

I'm trying to run the game StardewValley on X (well Xwayland, just plain X doesn't even give me error info, just crashes) and I get these errors: https://i.imgur.com/vbs3wEr.png

Can't screenshot for obvious reasons.

Steam is installed through flatpak then the game installed through Steam. Was working fine last time I played a few months ago.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Make sure your flatpak is updated there are often driver/system incompatibilites in flatpak packages.

FWIW You'll likely circumvent this by just not using the flatpak version but the repo version instead.

Thank you, I switched to the repo and it worked.

I'll be honest, I don't know why I used flatpak previously given it was so long ago, but whatever reason it's no longer neccessary.
