Installing to unallocated disk space (dynamic disk)

Hi,

I'm planning to dual boot Arch and Windows on my machine.  I have one 150 GB hard drive, currently in dynamic mode.  There is a 50 GB Windows partition, and the other 100 GB is unallocated.

Now, I know that installing linux on a dynamic disk is usually a no-no.  From the cases I've been able to find online, people usually report that they can't even detect their unallocated space during linux installation.

Here is what I'm wondering:  When I run fdisk -l it will indeed detect the empty 100 GB portion of the disk.  Does this mean I should be able to go ahead with the installation, or should I still go through the business of converting my dynamic disk back to basic?

Thanks

Maybe try using LVM?
