Overview:
I am having a problem with Pulseaudio and/or Alsa where my mic only outputs static audio, the volume of this audio can be changed but the mic does not record any meaningful audio. I have read through the wiki and followed the all the steps in "Static noise in microphone recording" section, to no success.
What I tried:
When I record at the highest sampling rate of the mic (96000) with the command `arecord -f dat -r 96000 -D hw:0,0 -d 5 highSample.wav` when I play it back with aplay, the static sound clearer and that is it. Also I cannot change the default sample rate in the /etc/pulse/daemon.conf, as once I do and restart pulseaudio with `pulseaudio -k;pulseaudio --start` and run the command `arecord -f cd -d 10 defaultSample.wav`it still records at the default 44100.
I also tried checking for 2 channels, when I run `pacmd list-sources | grep 'name:.*input'` I get the output `name: <alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo>` and when I add the following lines:
load-module module-remap-source source_name=record_mono master=alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1f.3.analog-stereo master_channel_map=front-left channel_map=mono
set-default-source record_monoto the bottom of the /etc/pulse/default.pa file and again reload pulseaudio, I get the same output.
I even tried setting `avoid-resampling = yes` to /etc/pulse/daemon.conf and reloading, and again I got the same output.
What I am running:
I am currently running KDE Plasma, with pulseaudio version 13.0 and alsactl version 1.2.2 if that helps anything.

Too add on to that, turning everything up and enabling all options in alsa still does not help!

During recording post (default device so that pulse get's actively used) post the outputs of

It's always a bit weird to see generically initialized codecs, you didn't set something up to this effect in modprobe.d/kernel parameters did you? What hardware is this? From the output two things that might be relevant, lower both mic boosts, having them on 3 is not usually what you want, and you aren't using pulse for recording in that output maybe try
parec --file-format=wav test.wavto be sure.

Ok so my mic that was broken for a little while just started working, for anyone looking back on this thread, I updated my packages, and am now running the 5.6.6 kernel. I had also installed intel-ucode but I dont know if that could have affected the mic.
