Hi Guys, I want to port the deepin desktop V20 beta to AUR but I can't find the source code, do any of you know where to find it?
Offline
I've been asking myself the same. - Doesn't seem to be on github anymore.
Maybe ask someone at Wuhan deepin technology?
ArchLinux deepin DE 5.4 LTS kernel

Links to the beta repos seem to be down right now, but you'll need to contact deepin about that.
Mod note: moving to NC.

I would ask on the forum bbs.deepin.org, but the registration of new users and the login are offline.

they will publish the repo as soon as they hit the stable release
but you can find the beta packages located here https://community-packages.deepin.com/d … ol/main/d/
for example the deepin-terminal from v20 is https://community-packages.deepin.com/d … rig.tar.xz
actually it's called "Beta 20" and not "V20"

I'm packing the code from these sources, soon I will send it to AUR.

I'm also wondering the same thing. Can't wait to try v20

not sure if this project is related, but looks like it was recently updated with the newer beta 20 release. https://sourceforge.net/projects/archdeepin/

Hi, that's my archdeepin, its still using 15.11 DDE (20.5 is year + month of ISO Build) nothing to do with V20.
I have managed to get archdeepin V20/UOS working in a VM editing the pacman.conf e.g enabling testing, community testing etc...
If you want the steps I did, let me know and I will post them here
IMHO with V20 I think they have ruined what was a great Linux desktop

I can see how some people feel that way. I happen to like the new look and feel. it coincidentally aligns with most of the gnome/gtk themes i use. i also love the file manager and the screenshot tool. but to each their own. if you could share what you did to get UOS20 on arch i would be very grateful!

I assume you've install arch with deepin desktop before?
Install arch like you normally would, when you come to edit the pacman.conf mine is set like this:
# The testing repositories are disabled by default. To enable, uncomment the
# repo name header and Include lines. You can add preferred servers immediately
# after the header, and they will be used before the default mirrors.
[testing]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[core]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[extra]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[community-testing]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[community]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
# If you want to run 32 bit applications on your x86_64 system,
# enable the multilib repositories as required here.
[multilib-testing]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
[multilib]
Include = /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist
# An example of a custom package repository. See the pacman manpage for
# tips on creating your own repositories.
#[custom]
#SigLevel = Optional TrustAll
#Server = file:///home/custompkgs
don't forget to -Syy
when you get to installing the deepin desktop, only install deepin, do not install deepin-extra, it will not let you install. I get an error:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
/usr/share/dbus-1/services/com.deepin.Screenshot.service exists in both 'deepin-screen-recorder' and 'deepin-screenshot'
Errors occurred, no packages were upgraded.
although you could install them separately deepin-terminal deepin-movie etc the problem comes when installing 'deepin-screen-recorder' and 'deepin-screenshot' I don't use them so never looked into why they would not install.
also don't forget to enable your services lightdm, NetworkManager, haveged etc
That's pretty much how I got it to work, any problems, give me a shout, just be aware it could break at anytime

Thanks so much Ant! I actually really love this v20 theme, I guess I'm just special.
I am also testing out v20, but it seems like just installing it will make none of the apps curved like v20 (v20's corners are very rounded, but just installing it will leave the corners as rounded as v15, which many people like but I prefer v20's corners). Installing kwin makes the corners rounded, but instead un-rounds the dock corners. Can anyone help me with this, or has anyone encountered this issue?
Thanks

Hi enigma,
Thanks, are you in a VM or on Metal? Some effects don't work in a VM.
Losing the rounded corners using kwin, Could be that its not been implemented in kwin yet ???
Some updates today just fixed a few things for me, e.g calander wouldn't start, now it does Still can't install the deepin-extra pkg due to the error above.

Well deepin V20 has just dropped, enjoy guys

this worked out great! thanks. in the spirit of the OP, it would seem that some folks have already published this package to the Arch repos. so it might not be necessary to build/push to AUR as it seems there is a development thread already in progress no?
bummer about the extra repo tho. the screenshot tool is one of the better i have used. oh well!
thanks again.

Your Welcome,

Both on VM and on bare metal. Yea for some reason it's not working so well. I've heard deepin v20 uses kwin, but I think I'm using mutter right now because I uninstalled kwin. Mutter makes the dock corners rounded but not the applications, while kwin makes the application corners rounded but not the dock.

v20 will use deepin-wm if you installed deepin-kwin it will use that as default.
Try testing deepin-wm, in a terminal do:
deepin-wm --replace
if it works, uninstall deepin-kwin, otherwise its buggy and needs reporting here: https://github.com/linuxdeepin/developer-center/issues

I'm going to close this topic before it becomes a catchall for issues with the latest deepin release. Please create a new topic if you need support with the latest version packaged by Arch.
