Bass Speaker volume with pulseaudio on CS4208 on Macbook pro 11,1

Hello, I have a Macbook Pro Retina 11,1. It comes with an audio card Cirrus CS4208. Alsa seems to be working fine, alsamixer shows all needed controls and they work as expected.

The machine has a Bass Speaker and left/right front speakers. The system is running plasma desktop. Here's the problem: in pulseaudio/plasma-pa if I select the configuration "surround 2.1" then there's no audio. The volume keys does control the right volumes (I can check at the same time with alsamixer) but there's no audio. If I select the configuration "Stereo" then there's audio, but the volume control also changes the Bass Speaker volume and it maxes it out every time making the audio horrible. I can set the volume with alsamixer correctly to what I want though, but it renders the volume key unusable since every time I hit it, it maxes the subwoofer.

This looks very much like this comment upstream

Any help is appreciated.
