Auto-switch audio device when pluggin in headphones?

I'm using an HDMI monitor and sometimes plug in headphones through the front jack. Each time I want to switch between them I have to manually open pavucontrol and switch the audio device being used by, for example, firefox. How can I configure my audio setup so as to prioritize headphones when I plug them in?

Take a look at PulseAudio's Switch on Connect: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … on_connect and/or the scripts for PulseAudio to switch profiles described below that.
