Check out this screenshot of mc. Ugly, isn't it? It does the same thing with vim. Everything is fine with size 14 bold Terminus, but I switched it to size 12 medium, and it did this. WHY? How do I stop this wretched behaviour?
Here's what I have in .Xdefaults:
URxvt*font: -*-terminus-medium-*-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-*
URxvt*boldFont: -*-terminus-bold-*-*-*-12-*-*-*-*-*-iso10646-*
URxvt*scrollBar: False
URxvt*reverseVideo: True
Your assistance will be rewarded with naught but gratitude, but be assured that you will have it in spades.

That's your bold font. I always set my bold font to the "medium" font - meaning bold is not bold.

. I prefer not to use smilies, but . Since Terminus 14 bold looks so great, I made the incorrect assumption that 12 bold would look just as good. Thank you for your help, and I'm sorry for wasting your time on something I should have been able to figure out on my own.

Not a problem. It always feel good when you _can_ answer a question, so this isn't a waste of time at all. 8)

If you were wondering also, the author of Terminus has no intention of making terminus 12 bold any time soon.
