Hello all,
I've been using Arch for between 3 to 4 years now, but I still consider myself a newbie, as this is my first experience with linux (Besides a couple of months on Ubuntu).
Last week I got a new laptop and did a clean install of Arch, and everything went quite all right so far.
Now I'm trying to get lxd/lxc working again, but it's complaining about missing /usr/share/misc/usb.ids.
fatal: [db-simple -> localhost]: FAILED! => {"actions": [], "changed": false, "msg": "Failed to run: /usr/bin/lxd forkstart db-simple /var/lib/lxd/containers /var/log/lxd/db-simple/lxc.conf: 2020/04/28 16:51:30 usbid: failed to load: open /usr/share/misc/usb.ids: no such file or directory"}It's a log from ansible, but I got this message as well when doing 'lxd init'.
I did some searching around and found out that it's related to usbutils/hwids, which both are installed according to Pacman:
$ pacman -Q | egrep "hwids|usbutils"
hwids 20200306-1
usbutils 012-2But locate gave me this output:
$ locate usb.ids
/usr/share/hwdata/usb.idsAlso reinstalling didn't fix it:
$ sudo pacman -S hwids usbutils
warning: hwids-20200306-1 is up to date -- reinstalling
warning: usbutils-012-2 is up to date -- reinstalling

/usr/share/hwdata/usb.idsI'm thinking about just creating a symlink from /usr/share/hwdata/usb.ids to /usr/share/misc/usb.ids, but that seems hacky and the wrong way to fix this.
I hope you can help me with this
.
Thanks

Upstream silenced warning, so just wait for update . Temporary workaround:
sudo ln -s ../hwdata/usb.ids /usr/share/misc/usb.idsOffline
Thanks! Strange I didn't find that myself
.
But if I understand correctly, this would still bail out? It's not an issue that it's missing, and just creating the symlink is a correct solution?
