System starts lagging after being used for some time

Using GNOME 3.36.1

System starts to lag after being used 1 day or so.

- Youtube videos stutter (audio is fine), this is the most obvious symptom I always notice.
- Typing has some lag
- Also scrolling a web page isn't that smooth
- Gaming stutters (minecraft), very obvious

Rebooting the system always resolves the problem.

Any idea why this might happen and how to start looking for the solution?

Is just restarting gnome sufficient?
Does this also happen w/ gnome on X11 (assuming your're using the wayland implementation)?
Is there an S3/4 cycle (suspend/hibernate) involved?

It seems Wayland cannot be restarted so cannot say yet.
It happens with Gnome on X11 also. Tested that earlier.
Yes, I have noticed stuttering starts to happen after, at least, 1 suspend/hibernate cycle.
