I had installed Plymouth but the splash screen isn't showing. All I'm seeing is just some text on the screen and then the display manager starts. I have made sure that Plymouth is in mkinitcpio.conf.

Are you using a Desktop Manager? Have you installed a theme? Have you tried if you can play it via plymouthd? We need more info of what you've tried so far.

You also need to set up quiet boot kernel parameters (the exact parameters are on the plymouth wiki page)
