Re: [solved] dnsmasq service failed to start (result: exit-code)

Have you just installed dnsmasq and the service has never worked?  If the service did work in the past what changed on the system?
What is the output of

journalctl -b0 -u dnsmasq.service

Please do not post outputs filtered by priority which removes context or include catalog messages.

Re: [solved] dnsmasq service failed to start (result: exit-code)

What command did you use to install dnsmasq?

May 09 21:11:44 arch dnsmasq[1875]: /usr/bin/dnsmasq: error while loading shared libraries: libnettle.so.8: cannot open shared object file: No su>

Indicates a missing library or wrong library version.  What is the output of

pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libnettle.so
pacman -Q dnsmasq

I just did "pacman -S dnsmasq" thats all

└[%]> pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libnettle.so
/usr/lib/libnettle.so is owned by nettle 3.5.1-2
└[%]> pacman -Q dnsmasq
dnsmasq 2.81-4

Re: [solved] dnsmasq service failed to start (result: exit-code)

The version of nettle is outdated while the version of dnsmasq is current so the libraries mismatch.
Please post the contents of /var/log/pacman.log.

Re: [solved] dnsmasq service failed to start (result: exit-code)

If you avoid `pacman -Sy` then pacman -S will work or fail but not produce partial updates.
