[SOLVED] X broken after upgrading nvidia drivers to ver. 440.82-16

I'm posting this because I found a solution for my issue - just in case somebody else would encounter it - regarding problem described here: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=255787.

The clue was that mkinitcpio -P command displayed errors regarding some nvidia modules, and that modprobe nvidia was also unable to find a proper module.

Downgrading nvidia drivers (only one package) to 440.82-15 and rebuilding initramfs solved the problem for me.

Seems to me that package nvidia 440.82-16 is broken.

P.S. Apparently the issue was not related solely to nvidia package itself, but to kernel not being simultaneously updated (5.6.12.arch1-1 -> 5.6.13.arch1-1).

Maybe there is a new turret, or some walls have moved. Or perhaps someone has temporarily removed the floor under your bed."
